Welcome to Mara Davidson Calligraphy!

Our Story

After nearly 10 years and three different industries, Mara decided she was ready to leave the fundraising world and get back to her roots in art. An Art History major, Mara has spent countless hours in museums studying, enjoying, and maintaining art. She moved into the performing arts world when she joined the development team at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts where she was able to bring together patrons and artists. Wanting to move closer to home she left DC, spending 5 more years fundraising in different industries, but still missing the arts. After getting married and helping friends and family with their weddings, she wondered how she could bring together her love of art, joy for helping people, and desire to make events easy and beautiful.

Enter: calligraphy. A natural fit for this art and stationery lover, Mara started to take calligraphy more seriously in 2017 and took the leap into full-time practice in 2019. The perfect combination of her love of art and desire to work closely with clients, a calligraphy business was the clear fit for Mara. Her focus is envelope addressing and event details. We cannot wait to talk to you about your project, and are excited to make sure your celebration has beautiful calligraphy!
